Students have been using Pages again but for a different use.  They usually write the Frayer Model out on paper, but I wanted them to experience the different features using Pages.  The neat part about this is that my EL's are able to visualize the concepts written with visuals dropped in from google images.  We had the work "Chronological" and the students were able to drop in images of cause/effect and problem/solution.  Pretty neat.

Been working with students on creating Frayer Models working within small groups.  Trying to see about getting away from paper and pencil in doing activities.  Students are familiar with Pages and it seemed to come a little easier for them.  We figured out how to use the shapes and to write a text within them.  For my EL group, we have utilized dropping pictures that fit the ideas saved

A few weeks ago, my students began using Pages and for many of them this was their first experience using it.  A few of my students were very helpful in sharing their expertise, however it was quite an adventure for most all of the students.  I am very encouraged of what I have seen my students accomplish with formulating their ideas and learning to manipulate Pages with visuals and texts.  This project is ongoing since there are other literary areas to uncover within their books.

Using Edmodo with two classes at this point.  Trying to get used to using it before expanding to other classes.  Students have been very motivated to accomplish the assignments.  I have been posing questions to the students that relate to concepts we are learning.  The classes are aLanguage Art and ELD.  I like that fact that my ELD have to practice responding in complete sentences.

Now that CELDT testing is done, my class has been getting in the use of the Inside curriculum. I have been getting my students into groups in order to do center type rotations.  Today, we tried to get our iPads into the mix.  Students were using englishpage.com in order to practice grammer use in conjunction with our learning with the curriculum.  They have been doing a great job and this is excellent practice for them (they are documenting their progress).  We will be entering into other uses with students are comfortable with the groups.

This Month I started using my website to incorporate an area where my Language Arts students have access to record their reading log thoughts.  I am going to post some of the samples to view soon.  I have observed that in doing this, students have been more motivated to  express their thoughts rather then just using pencil and paper.  I want to later expand this to include posting their essays and other writings.

Happy New Year Adrian.  Hope everyone had a great New Year also.  Also, Leslie we can definitely work on our score this year!
